what are you doing new year’s eve?
My lovely friends are throwing a party. Not just any party–a fancy, adult party! Normally I’m cool with hunkering in somewhere warm & cozy on New Year’s Eve, but this year I’m especially excited to kick up my glittery heels and ring in the new year in style with a wisky sour in my hand, herringbone stockings on my feet, my handsome man at my side, and some wonderful friends! What’s even better than being a guest a sweet party? Being hired to design the invitations for it. Below are a photos of the Mad Men inspired creations.
Fun, right?! Now, just as importantly… What are you
wearing New Year’s Eve? My mother-in-law buys me the coolest clothes. Clothes that I didn’t specifically ask for–stuff she just picks out–what pleasant surprises I received this Christmas! One of which is
this skirt. Pretty amazing, I know. So, I’m thinking that skirt, with the sparkly pumps I mentioned in
this post {my birthday present to myself!}.
What about you? Whatever you wear, wherever you go, I wish you a lovely evening, and a very Happy New Year! See you next year!

Chrissy - Thanks for designing the invites for this bash. You nailed it! I mean how do you do that? Amazing my friend! xoxo
kelly - All beautiful!! I have been wanting that exact same skirt! Can you tell me what you use to write the addressed envelopes? felt tipped calligraphy pens? if so, what brand and size?
just wondering what you like to use the best…..
kelly
lindsay - Hi Kelly! Thanks so much! I use calligraphy pens & various nibs that I dip into {usually} Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bombay India Ink. One of my favorites is #512 Hunt Ex-Fine Bowl Point, and also Hunt Drawing #66. I used to use felt tip pens, but I found that I couldn’t get as much control in the line weight. You can buy a sample pack at your local art store and just play around to see what works for you!
Brittany - Lindsay! SO impressed with your work. You’re amazing. One little question- can you tell me about the wrap around “deliver to” labels with the return address on them? Did you make those? I”m loving them!
lindsay - Thank you! Yep, I made them. They wrap around the back with the return address. Just a fun way to mix it up!
