Happy Day! We started our day out at the pumpkin patch, and it was the first time since we got to Arizona that I felt a tiny bit settled in. It was really nice. :o) I’m so pumped to share with you today a fun little project I worked on: These cute Mr & Mrs cutting boards for the Lulu & Georgia Gift Shop!

I am a new fan of Lulu & Georgia (they have the best rugs, per my friend Laura), and so I jumped at the chance when they asked me to do the custom calligraphy for their new cutting boards. Aren’t they cool?

What a fun anniversary or wedding gift. I especially love the round one. I think it would make an awesome cheese platter, too. (What do you say, Ahndea? Throw some brie & jam on that bad boy and come on over!!!)

You can purchase the cutting boards right here: Rectangle & Round, and be sure to check out the other awesome finds in the gift shop, too. Enjoy your weekend!! xo, L

p.s. Bubbly Cheers Coaster by Sugar Paper!

I was tickled pink to see the Deer Canvas nestled cozily into the awesome Clan of the Cave Bear nursery style board over at California Peach! Mary did such an awesome job creating the rugged (yet sweet!) mood board below. I LOVE non-traditional nurseries, and she has loads of inspiration to peruse through and get your imagination goin’. Even if you’re not decorating a nursery, the styling and color palettes could easily apply to any room re-do. Check out her blog for more details & fun inspiration! Thanks, Mary! xo, L

Hello friends!

Well first, WE MADE IT!!!! After a long (and sometimes really beautiful) drive across the country, we have made it to sunny AZ. Our house and neighborhood are awesome and we’re excited for this new journey. Homesickness hit us pretty hard, but I haven’t cried in 2 solid days, and progress is progress. All that to say, it’s so beautiful here, I’m trying to soak in every minute. Literally.

Secondly, thanks to random.org, I’d like to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to our Studio Calico Giveaway winner, Casey E! Casey, I can’t wait to hear all the fun ways you use the elements of this set. Enjoy!!!

And third, I wanted to share with you one of my most favorite prints. (I designed it with Breast Cancer Awareness month in mind, but just couldn’t wait until October to release it!)

I’ll always remember time I was on the phone with my friend Steph, and she said something to me that I’ll never forget. She was just a few months into a super high risk pregnancy, and she said to me “I’ve realized that I will never regret having hope.” That has stuck with me all the years since, and I think it’s one of the wisest things I’ve heard. I don’t know why awful things happen to amazing people… why incredible women get cancer, or struggle with infertility, or depression, or have miscarriages. The only hope I have is in Christ. And when the reality of the world settles in, and I start to not have faith and not pray, and not believe for the best, I think about Steph. And I think “I will never regret having hope.” And in that hope, I do believe that we can have power in the face of adversity.

This month, you can get the Power of Hope Print for just $5 with any other purchase from the LL shop.

It’s the perfect chance to buy one for you and one for a friend or family member. We could all use a little extra hope! xo, L

I had the coolest opportunity come up this summer and I wanted to share it with you! I’ve gotten to know and work with the incredible team at Studio Calico! Hooray!!! For those of you who haven’t yet heard of Studio Calico, it’s a super awesome company that caters to scrapbookers and their ever-growing desire to acquire new tools and pieces to add to their arsenal of memory-creating awesomeness. Studio Calico commissions various artists, hunts down the best products, and encourages a large community of crafters to produce unique layouts to showcase all of life’s moments – big and small – in fun and creative ways. (Be sure to watch the quick & cute video on their homepage for an even better explanation of what they do). Unique to Studio Calico, they create one-of-a-kind kits that get sent to their subscribers once a month, complete with fresh new goodies to use in their books and art. I was so thrilled when they asked me to be a part of this month’s kit!

We worked together to create a cool little stamp set (above), as well as a set of foil pressed cards that are only available exclusively at Studio Calico. (I can’t wait to add those little cards to my Project Life Album I’ll be working on this fall!)

Even if you’re not in to scrapbooking, you could totally use these stamps to make small frameable art or stationery, and the gold foil cards would look cool in a layout or in a frame. Without the subscription, you can purchase the kits separately on their site. And even BETTER than that, you can WIN THEM RIGHT HERE!!! Yep, I’m giving away a package of the Studio Calico Cotton Candy Stamp Set and Lindsay Letters Letterpress Card Set to one lucky winner! (I’ll also throw in a Be True T-shirt for you!)

TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY, leave a comment letting me know how you would use the card set or the stamps, OR, tell me which piece from either set you’d me most excited to receive! The giveaway will be open until Sunday, September 29th, and a winner will be selected at random on Monday the 30th. Woot!!

It is so awesome to see some of the things I’ve designed be brought to life with other people’s ideas and creativity, especially in ways I never imagined. This is so cool, and I’m really looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say! Good luck!! xo, L

p.s. pray for our safe travels, if you will! We finish up our drive to AZ today!!

[Here are a few ways some incredible artists have been using the kits (images below thanks to Studio Calico & their member community!]

When Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events asked me to be a part of a collaboration shoot featuring items sent over from BHLDN, I couldn’t say “YES!!!!” fast enough!! It was fun to letter some little place card pennants, and I’d been wanting to create a custom menu canvas like this lavender one forever. This shoot was the perfect opportunity! For the invitations, we used the Spring Fling Invitation (an exclusive customizable design created with Claudia at Fig.2 Design Studio. Check out the entire LL/Fig. 2 calligraphy wedding collection here). Rhi wrote about the shoot over at her blog right here, and it was also featured on Every Last Detail. Check them out for more info and pretty pics!

(don’t you just LOVE this photo of Rhi workin her magic?! I’m a sucker for behind the scenes…)

I’m in love with these beautiful, easy-going cakes. YUM!!!
