Hey there! Owner & designer Nicolle of Libby Lane Press emailed me this morning to let me know that she’s featuring me on her blog this morning! Fun! If you have some time to just bop around online, head over there and check it out [here!] and be sure to check out her punchy invitation and stationery designs, too! In other news, I’m at the shop rockin out to the Bruno Mars station and trying to wrap my mind around the endless sea of paper colors to choose from. What are your walls in need of? What colors would you like to see in the way of prints and canvases? I would LOVE to know what you’d like! xo, l

p.s. I’m not currently taking on custom branding projects like Nicolle’s, but I just love working with my new friends Lara & Emily at Making Brands Happen. If you’re interested in some lovely lettering for your branding, contact those ladies and we can work together that way!

Brittany - I need some more navy blue in my living room… if some of your new prints this year make it onto some navy paper, you’d have one grateful lindsayletters fan!ReplyCancel

Vanessa - Great article! I loved hearing about your design process. When you address envelopes, do you use an actual calligraphy pen or something else? I have been learning calligraphy but have felt that the hand-written style I like better is something I achieve with a regular old pen :)ReplyCancel

lindsay - Yep! Mostly. If I’m doing white writing that’s more illustrative, I like to use white gelly roll pens. :o)ReplyCancel

Amanda - First – Cant wait for your wedding to collection to come out on V-day.. I am getting married in May!
Second, I would love to see some warm colors on the wall… seems like its been a very cold winter, so personally I think some warmth on the walls would be fantastic!ReplyCancel

Nicolle - I think it’s fair to say I am pretty much the LUCKIEST girl ever to have had the pleasure to have a custom logo and illustration done by the lovely Lindsay Letters. Who knew Pinterest could lead me to you..ReplyCancel

Hello! It’s January! How the heck did that happen?! I hope this little post finds you healthy and happy and refreshed! As for me and my fam, things are good. We made it through Christmas – barely – with all of us being sick in some way or another. You guys, too? My birthday was Christmas Eve (31!) and I literally shuttered with flu chills through 1/4 of my much anticipated Gigi’s Red Velvet cupcake and then finally turned off Home Alone, threw in the towel, and succumbed to feeling gross for over a week. Eva and I still can’t breathe out of our left nostrils. Anyway. I’m feeling super energized by the start of a new year! Last year was a year of… well, starting. Starting how to figure out how to be a mom, starting to transition out of my job in ministry, and then another transition into starting the new shop. Exhausting! Awesome!! But here we are 2013, and I feel like for the first time in a long time I can start to see the beginning of some sort of balance. Or at least the potential to go to bed before midnight. Okay, 1. Maybe 2. But still.

I’m so excited about everything coming up for Lindsay Letters this year. First things first, some super fun Valentiney stuff is coming hot off the presses this week, then to a little glamour shots with a little Lark, and then to an online shop near you. Eek! Weeks like this are my absolute FAVORITE part of my already amazing job. I love seeing the ideas in my heads really come to life!

And then next up: Weddings. Yikes. /Yay!!! The pressure is a little overwhelming, but weddings is what started it all for me, it’s a line I’ve been dreaming up of for years and years. Fingers crossed I can do it the justice it deserves! It will be a humble beginning, but a fun start. Also to come: more canvases, more prints, and more sparkle. Hopefully some things to accessorize yourself as well as your walls, but that’s another story for another time. Stay tuned…

We’re headed back to the shop on Tuesday, and I am SO ready! Have a wonderful week! xo, l

p.s. Before I forget, please check out the freshly redesigned websites of Holly Mathis and Libby Lane Press! I was thrilled to be able to help with the identity design for both of these lovely ladies, and know you will love discovering their beautiful work if you haven’t already!

Hey hey! D and I are watching our third (THIRD) Christmas movie of the evening, and I wanted to share a fun new find with you. Have you discovered Emma Magazine yet? You must. I’m already waiting with much anticipation for the next issue! The whole concept of the magazine is “if Martha were a 20-something…” It’s a magazine “For city mamas, nesting newlyweds, and budding entrepreneurs. Chock full of easy DIYs, dinner party printables, and design advice from crafty business owners.” Yes, please. What’s more, the Lindsay Letters Peace on Earth canvas was chosen to be a part of their Holiday Guide. Yay!!!

So, grab some egg nog, cozy up, and check out Emma. You’ll be glad you did, I promise! And if we don’t meet before then, have a very very Merry Christmas!!! xo, L

Hey friends! This month is absolutely flying by! I just wanted to give you a heads up to let you know that Sunday, December 16th is the last day that you can order from the Shop! and get guaranteed delivery by Christmas.

I have love love LOVED seeing all of your Gilded Greetings photos come in – what fun!!! And it’s been so fun to see how they turn out. From hilarious to classic and everything in between, it’s awesome to see how you all are making them your own. If you’re interested in sending holiday cards but aren’t into photo cards, check out the Holiday Mini Prints. Lots of stationers don’t sell cards in very high quantities, but these packs are sold in sets of up to 25 cards – plenty enough to share the love with everyone card-worthy in your life!

If you’re already looking on to 2013, we have a Gilded Greetings design, an Art Print, and a Mini Print that are sure to help you ring in the new year in style. (The print would make an excellent hostess gift!)

I hope your December is treating you well! I’m trying my hardest to live in the moment, (while the back of my brain is swirling with Valentines!). xo, L

First, the Shop! is back up and running. Praise Jesus! Now back to business…

I can’t even begin to count the amount of emails I’ve received over the past year asking me to create a canvas with the lyrics to the old hymn Come Thou Fount. You guys LOVE it! And so do I. I grew up hearing this song in church, and fell back in love with it when my friend Jes sang it at Steve & Cait’s wedding. It’s such a beautiful song, and there is something so familiar and yet still so fresh about it.

For those of you who haven’t heard this song, I enlisted the vocal stylings of my handsome hubby and my lovely sister-in-law Breeze (when Breeze isn’t serenading us, she is also keeping track of all your orders at the shop!). So here is a little Come Thou Fount for you. In my Mother-in-law’s living room, after decorating the tree. I did not edit this video, so be patient – a song is coming, I promise.

Beautiful, no? (Seriously, that’s like the 3rd time they’d sung that song… ever). There are so many parts of this song worth illustrating, so there could very possibly be more canvases to come, but for now I figured I’d just start here.

I am really happy with the way it turned out – all swoopy and relaxed, but still pretty. I hope you guys love it as much as I loved creating it. It would be an amazing Christmas gift to yourself or someone you love. The canvases are large, 24 x 30 inch pieces. They’re gallery wrapped and really create a nice presence in the room – a true piece of art. Click here to check it out! (Oh, it’s also available as a print, too!) xo, L

p.s. so thrilled to have this piece featured on The Nesting Place today!
