Lindsay Letters // SHOP & Custom Work

Hi everyone! Can you believe it’s almost September?! Where the heck did it go? I got my first Apple Orchard flyer and was honestly a little sad, but then it was 97 degrees here again, and I remembered that just because my girlfriends are packing school lunches and the pool hours are cut, that doesn’t mean it’s winter already.

I’ve been getting a ton of emails about the Shop and about custom work, so I wanted to write with a quick update.
The SHOP: Since the Lindsay Letters Shop launched a few months ago, it has been super successful–Thank God! And THANK YOU!!! Actually, it’s been a little too successful for the way I set the shop up, and so I have taken the shop down temporarily. As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m working on some sweet holiday cards, as well as some other cool products, and we want to be able to manage all of the shop orders to the best of our ability. And this means getting a a brand sparkling NEW shop up and running! I am so SO excited!!!! I’m thrilled to be working with the team at Aeolidia and I cannot wait to see what unfolds. The new Lindsay Letters online store will be up and running early to mid October. At that time, you’ll be able to purchase your custom holiday cards, the O Holy Night Canvas, new iPhone cases, and other fun things I’m excited to share. {In plenty of time for Christmas!}

October is a busy month! It’s also when we will be moving to our new studio! So with the new online shop in the works, and with the move to the new studio, I have to announce that I’m not currently taking any non-editorial custom work for the rest of the year. I absolutely love to do custom work, and I will miss it terribly. But for this season, I need to focus on the shop and getting you some super cool holiday cards and gifts.

I think that’s it for now! Keep getting your holiday card photos ready and make sure you subscribe to Lindsay Letters to keep posted! And thank you SO incredibly much for all your kind words, support, and business. I’m blessed beyond belief to do work that I love for great people. xo, l

lindsay - Hi Kelly!
the O Holy Night will be up for purchase in an art print by the end of the week!

Dear Olympics,

It has been a wonderful two weeks. I have loved watching you. I’ve been inspired, excited, and convicted (get off the couch and your laptop, Lindsay)… (side note: while on the treadmill last week, I thought I would watch swimming for motivation. Turns out it just stressed me out the whole time. Ironically, Food Network is better TV for longer distance. Who knew?) Athletes, you are a beautiful representation of what God created our bodies to be able to do with hard work, dedication, and diligence. Can’t wait for Rio… xo, l

Kelly - Talk of the House - Too funny! Maybe Food Network is more motivated since you know if you work it off, you can eat more! Olympics would just make you exercise more. :) Your lettering to the stadium is gorgeous as always.

The Brown Betty // Yummy new lettering

It’s almost this weekend! New things in my life this week: Eva Love is officially a crawling superstar. She is everywhere, oh my goodness!!! I chopped all my hair off last night. Pinterest made me want beautiful, beachy, long hair but I had to face reality–I’m just not cut out for long hair. So off it went. I feel lighter already. Funny how hair can be a metaphor! Also, due to popular demand, I added a cranberry version of the O Holy Night canvas to the *Shop*. And finally, the last new little thing is this pretty envelope. I recently had the privilege of working on a shoot with my friends at Southern Weddings Magazine and Pitbulls and Posies. {I cannot wait to share that shoot with you!} In the meantime, I created this envelope lettering style specifically for that shoot, and I liked it so much that I wanted to offer it to all of you!

Apple Brown Betty, you say? Yep. It’s a delightful, brown sugary Southern dessert, so I’ve named this style the Brown Betty in honor of sugar and spice and Southern comfort. Yum. Pass the ice cream.
If you’re sending invitations and are interested in having your envelopes lettered in this style, click here for more information. Have a wonderful Friday! xo, l

Christmas Cards are coming to town!

Hi! I know, I know… Christmas? Seriously? Yes. Kind of. I started working on some illustrations this week for a small line Lindsay Letters Holiday Cards. You guys, I am STOKED. I think they are going to be so fun and beautiful and different–I can’t wait to share! Since the majority of options I’m offering will be photo cards, I wanted to give you this quick tip.

christmas card tip from Lindsay Sherbondy on Vimeo.

Don’t have time to watch my ramblings? That’s cool. In short, here is the deal: When you’re thinking about your holiday card photo, make sure you leave some “negative space” in the photo to accommodate some lovey lettering over the photo. This space doesn’t have to be completely void of anything (i.e. trees, etc.) just make sure there is a fair amount of space in your photo with no people (so the design doesn’t have to go over anyone’s face). This could be to the side of you or above you if the photo’s orientation is vertical. The farther away and the less cropped, the better. We will be sure to zoom and crop however necessary on our end. Can’t wait to share the new card designs with you in September! In the meantime, Happy photo-taking! xo, l

Custom Rubber Stamps // Livvy & Giveaway winner

There is a new girl in town! Let me introduce Livvy, the newest addition to the stamps in the Lindsay Letters Shop.

While I love handwritten text, there’s nothing quite better than pairing it with a good typeface. I think this little bit of sass is just what the current stamp collection needed. If you like Livvy, add her to your collection today! *SHOP!*
Okay! I’ve kept you waiting long enough. Since I promised you our Northernly giveaway winner on Friday and you’re getting it today, and since it seems like I have super fashionable readers that really love these scarves (you all totally inspired me!), I’m going to give away TWO of Northernly’s Nautical Striped Infinity Scarf. Yay! Thanks to Random.org, our lucky winners are: CAROLE & ELIZABETH! Congratulations, ladies! I know you will love them. (p.s. I’ve emailed both of you to get us your shipping addresses.) If you missed out this time, Keri promised to let me know when she has more back in stock. Thanks to everyone who entered! I’d like to start featuring a giveaway once a month so keep checking back. xo, l
